The Bordeaux Business Club, sport to fight cancer

The Club des Entreprises de Bordeaux challenges its members for a good cause.

The CIC Sud Ouest, the Bergonié Foundation and Traverser-Vivre are jointly organizing a connected sports challenge in solidarity. One of its objectives is to fight cancer. It started on June 7, 2021.

Thus, the CIC Sud Ouest is committed to working alongside Dominique Broustau. The latter is at the origin of a “Traverse-Vivre” project. Dominique Broustau went swimming on June 19, 2021 at 1pm from the Cabanes Tchanquées of Ile aux oiseaux. Dominique Broustau’s project aims to support cancer research. The benefits of his project must go to the benefit of the Bergonié Foundation. At the same time, the CIC Sud Ouest and the Bergonié Foundation are mobilizing around a connected challenge. The challenge took place from June 7 to July 7. It takes place thanks to a KM for Chance application. It is a solidarity running application that allows users to make donations from their kilometers traveled. The donations are intended to support associative projects thanks to corporate sponsors.

The Club des Entreprise de Bordeaux is a real economic player in the Bordeaux region. It offers a sporting challenge to fight against cancer. It will be said that sport knows how to prove itself and it is an activity that is closely linked to the world of business thanks to complementary values. Thus, once again, sport invites itself into this world and shows its positive impact on society. On the other hand, today, with the challenge of the Bordeaux Business Club, sport helps beyond the strict limits of companies, it aims for a much bigger fight. This is the fight against cancer. In this way, club members will put their physical fitness to work for the cause. The objective is to run 1000 kilometers to raise 1000 euros to fight against this disease while federating its members.

The Bordeaux Business Club supports the “Crossing Living” challenge

The Bordeaux Business Club was founded in 2004 by several Bordeaux companies. At that time it was called the Bordeaux Maritime Business Club. Over the years, the club has developed around three main axes. Indeed, the first objective of the club is to be a business facilitator. In this sense, it helps companies to grow and multiply contacts. Then, more generally, the club wants to bring the dynamism of the local economic fabric while promoting employment. Finally, it places itself as a local influential player to be a force of proposal. Its position is supported in particular by partnerships with local public actors such as the Bordeaux City Council, Bordeaux Métropole or Pôle Emploi.

Today, more than 350 companies come together within the club and share hundreds of events each year. Among these events, the club offers workshops for economic development for example.

In March 2021, the Bordeaux Business Club takes part in a unique and above all human event. This is a sporting challenge that supports the “Crossing Live” challenge. The 350 member companies will be able to participate in this sporting event to fight cancer. Participants will have to run together 1000 km to collect 1000 euros which will go back to the Bergonié Institute. Thus, each kilometer traveled by the members costs 1 euro for the medical institute. This meaningful challenge creates a positive synergy between environments and individuals with sport and its beautiful values as a common vector. On the other hand, it aims to support a man and a story, that of Dominique BROUSTEAU. In particular, he fought against cancer. Today, he launches the “Crossing Live” challenge, which aims to cross the Arcachon Basin in aid of cancer research.

Take part in a human event to unite your employees

There is a famous adage that “only we go faster, many go further”. The Bordeaux Business Club understands this. Sensitive to Dominique Brousteau’s challenge, he supports the impact of his fight. On the other hand, the club is convinced of the possible impact that this action can have within it. Indeed, no matter on what scale, the goal is for each to be able to nurture the exploits of the other. Here, when we talk about exploits, there is no longer any distinction between personal or professional challenges. There is only one word, solidarity to achieve its goals and achieve results that help to elevate each individual a little more.

In this sense, the Club also hopes to unite all its member employees and also give them hope for the revival. For this, nothing is more effective than the values of sport. Indeed, if sport fits so well in all situations of life, it is thanks to its values. Especially since in a context of health crisis, it is always good to see further with perseverance, surpassing oneself or team spirit. Thus through a collaborative project that serves a cause dear to all the club also compensates for the gloom that has settled in the minds of entrepreneurs. From the very first days, the challenge paid off. In fact, in 7 days the participants covered 350 kilometers.

Thus, the companies of the Bordeaux Business Club, take part with conviction in this adventure with positive benefits. For yes, it will be said, that this action can only be welcomed by the solidarity dimension it carries on all aspects. And if some were not yet convinced of the power of sport in all areas, the Bordeaux Business Club alongside “Traverser Vivre” puts the world in agreement.
