Women’s Startup with Women’s Special Global Weekend Startup

Women’s startup month in Bordeaux…. From Friday, February 9 to Sunday, February 11, 2018, hangar 16 of the Bordeaux docks, usually occupied by Inseec Bordeaux, was animated to the rhythm of the ideas for the Global Startup Weekend Women. In partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs and Techstars, this international edition brought together 460 mentors and 2,000 participants from around the world during 54 intensive hours to mature a startup concept.

Indeed, more current than ever in its concerns, this special weekend startup women was dedicated to “supporting the place of women for a more diverse and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem”. It also offered a remarkable and universal impact to his approach by taking place in 22 cities around the worldat the same time. In Bordeaux, the event organized by DNA Startup offered a welcome visibility to a dozen projects. Support to enable them to contribute to different sectors and the dynamic has created great ideas.

Strong projects from women

Although intended to allow the emergence of projects carried by the female gente, still little present in entrepreneurship, parity was relatively well respected on the Bordeaux benches.

This weekend will have been further proof that the complementarity of profiles and sensibilities contributes greatly to bringing wealth to the projects.

For this occasion, the Bordeaux weekend startup has set up a 100% female jury, offering itself the presence of women who make the Bordeaux economy. Jessica Amrane of Mobalib, Christine Panteix of Les Firsts incubator, Alexandra Zwang of Lexan, a specialist in Digital Business, Laetitia Blondeau of the Pépite Entrepreneuriat Campus Aquitaine, Stephanie Sibrac of Crédit Agricole d’Aquitaine and Eticoop, and Christine Serre of Accor Hotel Group.

In order to support the projects, mentors came to bring their skills. Both in terms of communication and digital, business development, business model, entrepreneurship, IT… All this knowledge is necessary for the proper ripening of projects and their feasibility. In addition, many partners (prizes, jury, mentorship) were present. Among them, the First New Aquitaine, BORDEAUX Business, ACCDE, La Terrasse Digitale… Or La Ruche, Hémera, France Digitale, Eticoop, Entrepreneuriat Campus Aquitaine, Plotfox and Agilonaute.

Introducing Startup Weekend Bordeaux Business

The big winner of the Bordeaux weekend startup is the Equeasy project, carried by Clementine Aubert. It is an application dedicated to the world of horse riding, one of the first sports in France with its 650,000 licensees. It is aimed at riders, stables and coaches. Thus, it allows to follow the organization of the competitions: dates, type of event, times of passage, classification …, as well as the training and progression of horses. The team won the right to present its project at the grand final in Paris on March 7th

startUp Bordeaux Business

The Firsts and Incubation award in the eponymous incubator was won by the La Voyageuse project. Finally, the favorite price went to Next Step. It is a platform that connects inspiring personalities and young people aged 15 to 25 to enable them to face the future with confidence through workshops.
