Stéphanie DILLIERE BROOKS, Mon e-Coaching. Portrait

Last updated:

Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS is a woman with a varied background. With Mon e-Coaching, she considers that she has a career path composed of three professional lives in their own right. Three different routes, but carried by a common thread: sharing and listening to the other. Beyond a career path, it is a real choice of life, a hand outstretched to others. A vocation, in short, that had an impact on his professional career.

An altruistic journey open to the world

Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS obtains a PhD in Organizational Communication in Bordeaux. This was the beginning of her first professional life, which she described as academic. She embraces university education and works at universities between Paris, Bordeaux and Calais. During this period, she teamed up with Pierre CORNILLOT, a great university professor. The latter has created a development association, the International Health Association, focused on Sub-Saharan Africa. Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS then sets out in search of more mobility, to travel and give of herself for humanitarian causes. She decided to turn to her second professional life, which lasted five and a half years.

She joins the ranks of the French Red Cross, and combines the journey and the altruism that animates her. Indeed, his missions lead him to travel regularly, in different countries. Missions that take place in different contexts, with varied teams to manage. Stephanie reaps all the benefits, both human and managerial, offering her an opening to the world. An experience like no other, which leads him to move several times to different parts of the world. During these missions, she meets locals who share their lives with her. She finds her place and the mission that has led her life ever since: to help others. But this second professional life gives way to her new vocation, when she meets her husband. An encounter that gives rise to a personal motivation, that of embarking on one’s entrepreneurial adventure.

Agility version “backpack”

This entrepreneurial adventure was meant to be a reflection of the life of Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS: mobile. Focused on professional coaching and management, his company is agile. And very quickly, she realized the success of her concept. Consultant and trainer, the observation is clear: companies in general invest a lot in training while only 10 to 15% of the knowledge acquired is actually used by people trained in their professional practices. She did not see the point of giving advice only, for someone to whom it would not be useful.

“It’s good to give advice but it doesn’t always fit with my activity”

She then decided to change her approach, to adapt to the profile of each entrepreneur followed, to achieve concrete results. From the person to arrive at the results, not from the desired result to define the action plan. In 2010, Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS returned to the school to obtain a Coach certification. Agility remains at the heart of her project, as the institution where she conducts her training is aimed at people from all over the world. She then notes that coaching is still relatively little used in organizations. An opportunity to democratize this activity, and to forge a strong relationship with companies and managers. In addition to this approach, Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS also seeks to combine her values and her ecological commitment. In 2011, for example, it launched its e-coaching platform, to provide personalized support remotely.

A new way of thinking about coaching

The Brooks Consulting Dillière platform seeks to differentiate itself from existing video conferencing and remote exchange solutions, such as Skype. The goal of its platform is above all to get its clients into a real distance coaching journey. To do this, it has put in place in the course many features to never go through any other way than its platform. High-performance online video conferencing room, questionnaires, audio file sharing, videos and movies… All this, totally dematerialized. In this way, Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS can follow up anywhere in the world. A way of reconciling her activity with her attraction to travel, which she continues to pursue.

In France, it perceives a real need, especially in certain dynamic regions such as the Isle of France, Haute-Savoie or New Aquitaine. An opportunity to cover structures that have collaborators all over the region. Its remote coaching avoids travel and the printing of follow-up documents. A solution that is both environmentally friendly and practical. Managers don’t need to make appointments well in advance, outside the company. And coaching is starting to democratize, to be accessible to more people. The human dimension is preserved, and even strengthened. Indeed, the coach remains available to his client if the latter has to cancel or have an emergency exchange. Barriers break and create real closeness.

She chose to settle in Bordeaux after studying there, becoming aware of the dynamism of the city. International companies are numerous and need support at some point in their activity. A potential, open to the world, where it finds its mark.

Coaching 3.0, a development in co-construction to advance

Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS has reached a level that other forms of coaching do not yet reach. Coaching 3.0 puts the person at the heart of his development to exchange with his coach. All while using the tools in a space built with the coach. During the confinement, this way of working proved particularly useful, in the face of coaches used to practicing the presentation. Indeed, despite the containment, everyone is connected and connected with the world. The relationship with the other is put at the center of the process, in order to develop a quality follow-up. In addition, for Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS, the key is to keep a single contact during the follow-up. This allows you to see progress and results quickly, with a coach who knows the situation of his coach.

Today, she works with companies of all sizes, and seeks above all to create a link with her customers and employees. This creates a cocoon of trust where the word is freed to move forward with transparency. While some clients were used to working only in person, containment prompted them to change their operations. Dematerialization has proven its worth, and now a minority of clients want to be coached in person. During the crisis, Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS continued her activities. In particular, it offered webinars to help its clients manage their business, to better manage and motivate remotely or to optimize telework. Solutions appreciated by executives, managers and executives, sensitive to confidentiality.

Coaching, from ethics to listening

To provide quality and recognized follow-up, Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS is accredited PCC (Professional Certified Coach of the International Coaching Federation). This is a certification issued to experienced coaches, ironed every three years. To recruit coaching staff, she is therefore attentive to the quality of the coach’s approach. He must also be accredited as a professional coach. Thanks to these accreditations and compliance with the code of ethics, coaches can integrate the platform and exercise remotely. These are essential values for him, which allow to create a bubble and an area of trust with the coachee. After the videoconferences, the coach receives a questionnaire on the quality of his session. This allows the platform to evolve according to customer feedback. But it also allows you to work the approach of the sessions according to the coaches and their needs.

Today the platform is composed of 14 e-coaches, in Bordeaux and all over the world. Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS regularly receives requests from new coaches to join the platform. However, it prioritizes quality over quantity, through experiments and human contact. At the same time, it has 400 accounts receivable active on its platform. She works with the Red Cross, UNICEF, MAIF and Crédit Agricole. During the sessions from 1 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., coaches can choose to address specific topics. But the majority of them are guided by their coach. It’s an opportunity to talk about things they don’t necessarily think about. It is a real tailor-made course that is offered to them.

Various profiles, a permanent adaptation

Coaching is a hand outstretched to the entrepreneur, the executive or the manager. If Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS has chosen to turn to a complete dematerialization of her service, he seduces the coaches. It offers both individual and collective coaching, in particular to strengthen cohesion. This can also take place for general coaching between several managers of the same company. This is particularly the case when those responsible are in different regions. These sessions allow them to exchange together and share their experience. But the accompaniment of Stephanie DILLIERE BROOKS is also done during specific moments of life. Taking a position, or losing it, a change in its teams, are all factors that allow you to use coaching. It can also be about developing your career, or developing a skill.

Agility has been a part of her life since her first experiences, and she intends to continue this development. Today, she wants to develop Dillière Brooks Consulting and her community. A community involved in the coaching brought, whose results it sees day after day. It wishes to continue to support its customers over time, and to offer them quality follow-up. A follow-up where the human relationship is put at the center of everything, rather than the tool. A cocoon in which the caterpillar becomes a butterfly…

Coaching at the service of entrepreneurs in the midst of a pandemic

Coaching allows a business leader who needs advice to benefit from the support of an expert. In this time of pandemic, the number of leaders in need of this valuable advice is increasing. Indeed, affected by administrative or economic closures, the psychological health of business leaders is impacted. The role of Stéphanie DILLIERE BROOKS thus becomes central, in order to propose concrete and effective solutions.

The predominant feeling is uncertainty. That of not knowing how the situation will be in six months, a year… The feeling of not being able to project oneself, of lacking information, of recourse. A more difficult situation in some sectors than others, which affects companies of all sizes. Stéphanie DILLIERE BROOKS is therefore a hand extended to these professionals,
