Org@Work and Microsoft, a solution to organize telecommuting in business

Rhythms with sanitary measures to combat covid 19, the world of work adapts with Org@Work and Microsoft. Indeed, the health crisis has had an unprecedented impact on the way we work. It has accelerated the implementation of telework throughout the territory. As a result, companies have had to rethink their operations in order to adapt to new challenges. Digital tools have been the actors of this change. With Microsoft the solution Org@Work,developed by Lundano, plays a role in this context. It helps companies and employees set up their work organisation at home.

The introduction of telecommuting and the obstacles to overcome

For the past year, COVID-19 has been hitting the way we live. Beyond affecting our daily lives, the pandemic also affects the way we work. Before the arrival of the virus, telework was a somewhat abstract concept for many companies. It must be said that this way of working was not a norm. Indeed, straight from the United States, telework is adopted only by the new generations. They are looking for more flexibility in the work but also more freedoms. Today, however, it applies to everyone, although culture and general philosophy are more about presentism and control in business. The generalization of telework is then seen by some as an opportunity. For others, it is like a new way of working away from idealizations. Org@Work understands this and provides concrete solutions.

Telework can provide benefits. It can give a better lifestyle with less constraints and stresses especially related to transport. In this sense, it can be more efficient while losing less time and energy. Therefore, with a notion of freedom, teleworkers can enjoy a little more of their lives outside of work. They can spend more time with their families, they can also practice more leisure time. However, if these benefits are present, the balance may seem difficult to find for others. Org@Work proposes to address these issues.

The implementation of telework has therefore gradually slipped towards a hybrid model between on-site and remote work Effectively between present and distance, the transition is not obvious to everyone. Between isolation, organizational problems, lack of motivation and limited communication between employees, the limits of telework are there. To make up for this, companies and employees need to put in place solutions and tools. The aim of the latter will be to optimize and frame this new work organization. Org@Work therefore intervenes with this in mind to facilitate companies and employees in their organization of telework.

Org@work a solution to optimally manage hybrid telecommuting

Thus, to help companies and simplify their actions in such a context, Org@Work intervenes. In particular, the solution was designed and developed by the consulting firm Lundano. It aims to respond to the new approach to work, a hybrid approach to telecommuting by offering real-time information on the presence of employees on site. Indeed, Org@Work, helps them to accompany the company’s stakeholders. It aims to provide transparency to employees and managers in their various areas of responsibility, information sharing, project coordination and insurance risk management. Org@Work is published on the Microsoft Teams marketplace and is available on Microsoft AppSource.

If Org@Work can be integrated autonomously into the company’s information system, there is a particular interest in running it in Teams. This will allow the company’s employees to work on a single solution. Especially since Teams has now become a familiar tool. Thus, since Teams, employees and managers can have direct access to all the information useful to the smooth running of the company on site or in telework. They can therefore have access to a calendar, team notifications, chat, conferences, document sharing, and their company presences.

Indeed with Org@Work employees can fill their schedule with their schedules as well as their request for holidays or office reservations This is a plus for managers who can more easily manage the schedules of their teams. Thus, by viewing the presence of their employees on site, they can better distribute the work remotely for all. This also allows them to differentiate each profile to allow specific solution to be implemented if necessary. They can now ensure the company’s presence framework and can control the occupancy rate of spaces to reduce risk.

In this sense, if Org@Work is available on Microsoft Teams can effectively improve the work of employees it allows beyond optimizing the whole organization of new working methods. Indeed, telework or hybrid telework no longer requires the same management as before. There is a need for a new level of vigilance, especially in terms of the presence or non-presence of employees in companies. With Org@work the steps are simplified since everything is now centralized on the tool. Moreover, since this new organization seems well set to last, Lundano is already working on a new integration with Microsoft 365.
