Business opportunity: a new VAKOM franchise in Bordeaux

Founded in Rouen more than 30 years ago, Vakom is a leading company in the human resources and human relations consulting market. Since 2008, the Vakom concept has been available in franchises. To date, the network has about forty establishments on French territory, including in the Overseas Departments and Territories. Still not very present in some regions, the brand is slowly pursuing its development and is trying to recruit new franchisees. In 2021, Vakom announces the opening of a new franchise: Vakom Bordeaux – Bègles. The opportunity to question the concept of the firm, as well as its financial results.

Beyond financial well-being, material well-being, what men and women are most looking for is relational well-being. To have the feeling of being recognized, of being alive, of existing!

To facilitate the appropriation of the brand’s values, the company trains its franchisees in the use of the OPR tool, developed by Jean-Louis FEL, the founder. Vakom, a worrying 2019 turnover

In 2021, Vakom has 40 locations in metropolitan France and the Overseas Departments and Territories. All for a total of more than 80 employees. Recently, the brand is attempting an international opening with a first franchise in Switzerland.

However, despite announcements ofthe opening of franchises,including that of Bordeaux-Bègles, not all the lights are green. Thus, while in 2018 Vakom achieved a turnover of €2,764,000, turnover fell sharply the following year. It thus falls to €1,708,600.00, or -38%. %. (3) Surprising for a year that HR professionals say they have been a good vintage, with an increase in the volume of requests from companies.

In addition to recruitment, quality of life counselling at work is an emerging market. It is gradually making its place in the business advisory landscape. Firms specialized in this field are also emerging, such as XXL Happyness in Bordeaux. Already occupying this long-standing positioning, it is surprising not to see Vakom occupying more ground in this area.

Despite these figures, the operating result remains positive with €71,783 (-45.91%). Without particular communication from the brand to explain this situation, it is difficult to draw truly reassuring conclusions. Be that as it may, confidence in the brand for the opening of a franchise is necessarily negatively impacted.

Conversion and opening of a business, franchising attracts attention

To welcome its new franchisees, Vakom provides mandatory training in order to provide the necessary to master the tools and methods of the brand. This 34-day training can then be freely supplemented by continuing education as needed.

In addition, in order to follow theevolution of franchises and support their development, Vakom plans 2 annual meetings of 2 days. An approach that allows the brand to indicate its presence alongside franchisees, as well as to ensure compliance with processes and the quality of the work provided to customers.

To join the network, the Franchise Observatory announces an entrance fee of €21,500 and initial investments of €60,000. The brand also estimates that the turnover of a new franchisee can oscillate between €80,000 and €150,000 per year, starting in the second year of the financial year. It remains to compare it with the charges necessary for such a result (rent, salaries…), but the figures displayed are obviously interesting enough to hold the attention of human resources professionals looking for an entrepreneurial adventure.
