For the co-founder, William Boiché, the success story of the two solutions lies in several points. Between family business, growth market, digitalization, recruitment in the provinces and ambitious objectives, William Boiché offers us his interesting point of view on entrepreneurship and accounting today.

How easy was it to develop as a family?

This question was often asked of William Boiché. Indeed, the co-founder of the two companies Comptalib and Compta-Clémentine developed these two companies with his father. For the latter, family entrepreneurship is a strength.

“It’s easier to work as a family because it allows more confidence and more passion in a common project.”

If family entrepreneurship has proven to be a strength, it is thanks to the differences in personalities between William Boiché and his father. This difference is important in the sense that it brings complementarity. Thus, it allowed to develop the accounting business with a benevolent state of mind. A family dimension and a complementarity of profile that has developed a little more with the arrival of William Boiché’s childhood best friend. The latter joined the adventure as commercial director. His personality made it possible to broaden the reflection and to approach possible conflicts from another angle. Over time, the companies have been able to grow considerably to reach no less than 220 employees and more than 10,000 customers.

How did you go from start-up to scale-up in the accounting industry?

The growth of the Accounting solutions Comptalib and Compta-Clémentine lies in a buoyant market. Initially, William Boiché created the company Comptalib to rid companies of administrative procedures while offering them easy-to-use online tools. The goal is to allow companies to focus on their core business. For this, the solution is divided into several areas of activity to best meet the needs of different sectors.

With a monthly subscription, companies can best manage their accounting and benefit from the support of accountants and accountants. Following, he created Compta-Clémentine to offer support to companies. The solutions are showing good growth in a rapidly changing market. Indeed, the digitalization of accounting is a major challenge and continues to develop. The Covid health crisis has also given a boost. In this sense, the solutions are ahead of schedule.

Digital solutions innervate accounting

We have been one step ahead of innovation since the beginning

It must be said that if previously for companies the idea of transmitting their banking information for the management of online accounting was complicated, now this is no longer the case. With the impact of the health crisis , entrepreneurs have become accustomed to digital solutions and they now show their full confidence. The complementarity of online tools has become a decisive point for the latter. In addition, many entrepreneurs are aware of the interest and simplicity of the digital tools offered.
William Boiché notices an addiction that sets in when companies no longer require training for the use of the tools they themselves master.

The strategy put in place in this context has allowed the company to become profitable without even needing to raise funds. It reinvests itself in its growth. In particular, it forecasts growth of 80%.

Why did you choose a facility in the provinces? To what extent does this impact recruitment?


For William Boiché, the choice to have chosen to settle in the provinces instead of Paris is very strategic. This makes it possible to benefit from less competition, to take advantage of a cheaper real estate offer and to be part of a benevolent ecosystem.

In terms of recruitment, the province also has qualities. Indeed, for William Boiché, recruiting in the provinces is easier than recruiting in Paris for example. In the provinces, the concentration of companies being less, it is easier to recruit profiles. Although some positions are easier to recruit in the capital due to the presence of schools, the skills are also found in the provinces.

Developing under the provincial sun

As part of the growth of his two accounting companies, William Boiché announces a recruitment plan of 300 people. They will absorb the arrival of new customers. For positions that show recruitment difficulties, especially in tech, the company chooses to go directly to recruit in schools. In addition, distance is no longer a barrier since now many employees want to be remote.


For example, a web developer, an accountant and a web designer are located in Bordeaux. William Boiché, moreover, tells us, the possibility of a branch in Bordeaux. However, as he rightly told us: everything in its time.

“For the moment we have other priority projects but why not an installation in Bordeaux”
