Krys Group, one step closer to relocating to the territory

With Krys, “you will love yourself”, or rather you will like to consume products designed in France. In addition, for Krys Group,it is time to affirm its new slogan, “The energy of a collective, the strength of your potentials”. This is a new signature that is part of the Vision 2025 strategic plan. A plan on which Krys Group aims to recruit the best talent. At the same time, the group seeks to retain the latter in order to benefit from long-term skills within it.

Thus, beyond the Krys brand, Krys Group also values its employer brand. It reflects the internal culture of the company to make employees want to get involved. A new signature for the group that reflects its desire to include all talents in its adventure. After the relocation of its production, the second step is to find and keep the talents. For Krys Group, each individual can express and bring the best of himself for the collective and create a set of positive synergies.

In March 2021, Krys Group organizes a visit to its industrial site in Bazainville. For the occasion, the group received the Vice-President in charge of economic development and attractiveness, agriculture and rurality of the Ile-de-France region, Alexandra Dublanche. In addition, the deputy prefect of Mantes la Jolie, Gérard Déroin, was also present.

The presence of these two personalities of the territory, follows the obtaining of a grant from the region to CODIR. This is the production and logistics site of Krys Group. Thus, the investment should allow the creation of new local jobs but also a modernization of the site. Behind, the modernization of the site, there is in particular a desire to relocate production to the territory. Thus, through the modernization of its site, Krys Group promotes local employment. It also values French production. The aim is to make the excellence of the French optical sector shine again in the long term.

Krys Group and its CODIR production site have short- and long-term goals

Krys Group was founded in 1996. Over time, the brand has established itself as the market leader in optics in the territory. In 2019, the group has more than one billion euros in sales. and no less than 4 million customers. Its success is driven by its differences. Indeed, the brand wants to differentiate itself from others, by cooperative values. Today, it is represented through more than 1398 international stores.

Krys Group stores are notably present under the Krys,Vision Plus and Lynx Optical brands. While the Group is a leader in the sector, it remains a major employer for the territory. As a distributor and producer, it is the leading employer in the optics sector. Moreover, rich in its success the group does not stop just in the sector of optics, it also diversifies with a hearing health offer.

Thus, CODIR, a subsidiary of Krys Groupe, intervenes for the production of its bezel glasses. It would supply more than one in 10 eyewear wearers in the territory with a desire to promote the made in France. Indeed, this dimension already present in the group since 2012, continues to grow. It is one of the short-term objectives of the group, which launched its first investment plan on this issue in early 2020.

On the other hand, on the longer term the group presented KAP2023. This is a second investment plan launched in the spring of 2021. This new investment plan is intended to enable the modernization of the production site. The aim is to increase the production capacity of the lenses, reduce the environmental impact, improve productivity, working conditions but also contribute to the local economic fabric. So with Krys Group, the positive spin-offs of the French-made are at your fingertips.

Krys Group gets a little more involved in French production

French production a major asset

We don’t laugh with Made in France anymore. Indeed, French production has a great place in the hearts of consumers. According to a study carried out by IFOP for the direct competitor of Krys Group, Atol, in 2013 already 77% of the French were willing to pay more to buy a French product. In 2018, a third of them were still confirming this point.

Since 1998, Krys Group has been engaged in the mission of production in the territory with CODIR. It is also a real competitive advantage for the group. The production site was certified in 2012 “Origine France Guarantee”. It is also the only optical group to produce its in-house lenses in France. However, there is a saying that “no one is perfect”. Indeed, Krys can go further in its French production strategy. This is why it is modernizing its production site in order to relocate the production of more than 300,000 before glasses produced in Asia.

While French production is an undeniable guarantee of quality for consumers, it also contributes to employment in the territory and to the maintenance of know-how. Indeed, according to an IFOP survey, according to 93% of French manufacturers, French manufacturing contributes to the maintenance of employment in the country. Thus, the relocation of glass production from Asia is expected to create an added value of around 1.4 million euros per year. The region has fully grasped the stakes of this 3.1 million plan and is supporting the tune of 600,000 euros. Its participation is, of course, aimed at enhancing wealth creation and boosting employment.

Thus, for the Krys Group, this is just another step in the strategy they have put in place since 1998. Today, the stakes of French production are no longer to be overlooked. As a result of the health crisis, consumers are increasingly looking for meaning in a society that seems to have reached its limits. Thus, if before, large companies relocate for financial reasons, today we are witnessing a return to the roots to assert its values.
