Events: Preparing for 2021 with inspiration

Events is the fast-growing sector. Protests take place all around the world on a daily basis. Cultural, musical, professional, artistic… all subjects are represented. It is for this universal lighting that the event attracts crowds. More and more people are being allowed to exhibit their sector or your passions in trade shows, conventions or fairs, for example. In the cultural field, the artist now has a real role to play. The event brings a certain recognition to all the subjects they deal with, which they carry. It is for this freedom of expression that the event sector is growing more and more economically. And above all, that it attracts more each year.

A boom in new entrants to the event sector

A real professional opportunity for young people

The event is “14,700 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees” in 2016, according to INSEE (1). In addition to these full-time jobs, this sector welcomes many individuals during the summer season or short-term contracts at special events.

Event organizers are the first to recruit volunteers or seasonal jobs, including young people, to carry out all kinds of events. Paid or not, young people gain work experience. They are in contact with people, learn to listen, all in a dynamic atmosphere and sometimes under pressure (positive obviously).

The time of a festival, such as the Open Air in Bordeaux for example; volunteers are immersed in the frenetic world of events. Indeed, during the different dates of the Bordeaux electronic outdoor festival, young people try their hand at multiple missions. They thus acquire a real autonomy and versatility that will serve them in all their future prospects.

This is why, in a more professional approach, more and more young people decide to direct their studies in communication. And, especially in events.

One of the new favorite specialisations of private schools

Many specialized schools on the subject are being established in the four corners of france. Other schools, most of the time communication, are in turn opening a specialization in events to meet the ever-increasing demand.

At the beginning of the emergence of a beautiful momentum; the sector faced a major obstacle: the Covid-19. The latter then calls into question many internships or alternations that young students had the opportunity to offer themselves to validate their school curriculum. Schools have obviously adapted the years concerned accordingly.

Indeed, the event companies have encountered some difficulties in view of the restrictions related to the health situation. Many events are cancelled. So in such a context, it was unfortunately difficult for them to consider an additional student’s apprenticeship or training. However, for those who have been lucky enough to be able to explore the sector, it is a unique and most formative experience they are experiencing!

But much more than the student system, the entire event sector has been working every day since the arrival of Covid-19; to find alternatives as soon as possible.

The event, towards a revival of market activity

The events of the summer called into question

Summer usually rhymes with event of all kinds. The summer atmosphere brings with it beautiful events. In addition, the holidays bring many French and foreign tourists. In order to take advantage of the frenzy of this circulation of people from all over the world, the event relies heavily on these summer programming.

However, this was without relying on the Covid-19. Although travel has been allowed again in France since 11 May 2020; gatherings are strongly discouraged.

Many summer events are cancelled or postponed. Gatherings are expected to be moderately back to school.

Digital, tomorrow’s bet for the event sector

However, the event industry is already considering alternatives. The most envisaged at the moment seem to be digital. Indeed, some music festivals like Tomorrowland for example, are launching their dematerialized edition.

This practice of event dematerialization could even revolutionize the event industry. How many people, in general, have problems getting around? In addition to being an alternative to circumventing the Covid-19, dematerialized events could be a factor of equality. The experience of an event behind a screen does not have the same scope as a physical event, of course. However, this is still just the draft of a new concept!

The activity of the event sector, which had hither far been very good, faces a real challenge. Digital and event; Here’s tomorrow’s bet!

Events already scheduled to launch 2021

Before offering dematerialized versions of all the programming of the end of 2020, physical dates still remain.

In order to prepare for a new year, which could see the emergence of digital events grow; consolidate these end-of-year programs.

The French will have the pleasure of meeting for the 20th consecutive year the fair of innovation and event creation HEAVENT PARIS. The fair attracted no less than 18,000 visitors last year. Event lovers or professionals of all kinds (Project Manager, Event Manager, Sales Manager, Marketing Director…) tread the ground of this event.

This year, three themes are in the spotlight. The first is the “eco-responsible village.” Indeed, CSR, i.e. the various ecological and social commitments, are the most important factors to incorporate into its event strategy today.

The other two themes concern the adaptation of the sector to the Covid-19 of course, as well as a space reserved for creation and content.

The employment sector is moving. It transforms and evolves with everyone’s expectations and needs. We are more interested in the sector of events, events, fairs… The event tackles so many topics that it excites the crowds. Individuals aspire to participate in these beautiful projects that bring people together around a common interest. It is this closeness and pride that the French desire when they get into the event. It is therefore obvious that a sector of enthusiasts find the most interesting alternatives to revive their activity. It’s another great opportunity to innovate!
