Epicery, a crazy offer for merchants and epicureans for the end of the year holidays
epicery, in partnership with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region since the summer of 2021, is redoubling its efforts in December for local merchants. The fresh produce delivery application, a pioneer in foodtech since 2016, now announces preferential offers for the end of the year holidays (1). At the service of local merchants, epicery facilitates their digitalization and valorization. Thanks to its concept of digitalized shopping street, the application is the showcase of all quality products from local shops. It brings together food merchants such as butchers, fishmongers, primeurs, cheese makers, but also florists and restaurateurs. The approach is simple: a professional can create his shop in less than 48 hours to sell in delivery or click & collect. Enough to increase its revenues by more than 30%.
End-of-year celebrations, epicery boosts its presence in Bordeaux
The epicery marketplace joined Bordeaux in March 2020 in the midst of a pandemic. Since then, about thirty local merchants are present on the application. For the Christmas holidays, epicery takes advantage of the fact that half of the French declare themselves quite willing to order exceptional products online. In order to develop its Presence in Bordeaux, the start-up is strengthening its partnership with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region by becoming Santa’s assistant for merchants.
Bordeaux is ultra-dynamic, it is one of the emblematic cities of French gastronomy. At epicery, we are committed to promoting high-quality merchants whose products make it possible to make unique tables, which is not lacking in the region! This is why our ambitions in Bordeaux are great, and why we are doing everything we can to reach a hundred partner merchants by February.

Thus, epicery provides local professionals with a free service for 2 months. No commission or subscription is provided, to leave merchants the leisure to discover the platform without financial commitment. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to make known the concept of the people of Bordeaux for whom the initiative is still confidential. In order to encourage them to place an order online, delivery costs are even offered until December 31, 2021.
epicery and Nouvelle-Aquitaine, a partnership to promote local merchants
In the first quarter of 2021, Nouvelle-Aquitaine launched a call for projects aimed at accelerating the recovery of the local economy. In this context, epicery was chosen for this partnership, as a marketplace engaged alongside entrepreneurs. For good reason, if she is still very young in Bordeaux, this is not the case in other cities in France. So much so that the application actually has 850 local shops spread over Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Lille and Toulouse. It now intends to roll out in 10 new cities in 2022. But also on the outskirts of large cities, in the heart of the territories.
To achieve this, the partnership with the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region allows epicery to offer neo-Aquitaine companies a preferential rate of nearly 40% on the subscription. Moreover, the marketplace supports them in their digital transformation : e-commerce site, management, delivery, logistics… To do this, the region dedicates a fund of nearly €75,000 to the operation.
