City of Wine and culture for the Holidays of All Saints’ Day
For the holidays of All Saints’ Day, the Cité du Vinunveils a program with several cultural events. These activities aim to offer highlights and workshops for the whole family around wine. An opportunity to discover wine culture in connection with mythology. Indeed, the temporary exhibition “Drinking with the Gods” will take place until September 7th. The range of activities aims to seduce all generations, between tastings and new vision of young winegrowers. Wine is then discovered between history, tradition and modernity. A discovery in the image of the Cité du Vin which has a foot in the ancestral know-how of the viticulture culture but also in an innovative vision for the sector.
The Cité du Vin hosts the Wonder France Festival
On October 12th, the Official Selection of the Wonder France festival was screened in the Cité du Vin. This event is an opportunity to promote audiovisual content creators as well as the territory. Indeed, the mission of the Wonder France Festival is to collect all the most beautiful images shot on French territory. It is an event that brings together the talents of creators around the enhancement of the territory. Thus the Cité du Vin has hosted workshops, Master Classes and screenings in this dynamic.
After the award ceremony on October 11, the day of October 12 allowed to unveil the creations of the winners of the festival but not only. Indeed, thanks to workshops she also made it possible to discover the subtleties of video in the middle of nature. The Master Classes also discussed how to develop your business as a videographer on social networks. Finally, after a rich day of sharing and learning, a pot with the participants closed the Wonder France festival. Thus, beyond the world of viticulture, the Cité du Vin values culture and artistic expression.
Learn to rediscover wine, its culture and awaken your senses at the Cité du Vin
Loving Bordeaux wine also means learning to discover its subtleties. At the moment we are talking about a phenomenon of deconsumption of wine. In particular, consumers have changed their consumption habits. The Comité National des Interprofessions des Vins has studied these new habits with consumers. It emerges that the consumption of wine is becoming more and more occasional. If previously, wine accompanied daily meals, now it is more associated with consumption for pleasure or during convivial moments. Thus, for the sector it is therefore necessary to adapt to these new expectations. As part of its cultural activities, the Cité du Vin offers its solutions.
In this sense, tastings meet this need for pleasure consumption. They are an opportunity to forge your palate in a friendly moment at the Cité du Vin around culture and sharing. Thus, the Cité du Vin offers from October 23 to November 7 day workshops and afterwork. During these workshops, visitors can discover the keys to the tasting. For example, it organizes workshops “Initiation to tasting” still the discovery of the Bordeaux vineyard with the workshop “Wines of Bordeaux”. For the most epicurean, a gourmet workshop will take place on November 4th. They aim to introduce wine by associating it with the fish tasting of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
Instilling a more modern vision that breaks the codes for the wine sector
On the other hand, the workshops offered also offer a more modern and uninhibited vision of wine. Indeed, beyond the activities around the culture the Cité du Vin organizes meetings. In particular, she organized a meeting with Emile Coddens. He is a young winemaker of 24 years who approaches his profession in coherence with current trends. The latter has a community of more than 400,000 subscribers on Tik Tok. On the social network, he shares his vision of the cultivation of the vine in a modern and playful way. An opportunity to conquer a younger clientele with a new open-mindedness.
In addition, we can notice that Bordeaux wines willingly bend to this rejuvenation. Indeed, the AOC wines of Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur have decided to break the codes of tradition thanks to original bottle designs. The latter leave aside the traditional vision of the classic wine bottle and offer ever more original designs.
Finally, the temporary exhibition Drinking with the Gods that will run until November 7 offers visitors a journey from Antiquity to Street Art. Indeed, the creations of 3 contemporary urban artists are presented. Thus, at the Cité du Vin Monkey Bird, Rouge, and Delphine Delas brings a modern point of view on mythology in connection with wine culture
In this sense, the Cité du Vin approaches the culture of Wine with modernity. Through its actions, it brings a breath of fresh air to a sector subject to change.
