Culinary Chefs at the Culinary College of France turn to Bordeaux

The Chefs of the Culinary College of France have identified more than thirty Quality Restaurants in and around Bordeaux. Thus Bordeaux continues to attract attention thanks to its very special way of life. The approach of the Culinary Chefs of the Culinary College of France is to highlight the quality restaurants present in Bordeaux, qualified with a “Quality Restaurant” label.

The Collège Culinaire de France labels thirty restaurants in bordeaux and its surroundings

Quality restaurateurs are passionate about their profession, their field. Quality Producers and craftsmen pay particular attention to their products, their art and their know-how. That’s why it’s interesting to give them visibility, so they can share and pass on their knowledge and love of quality restoration. The label measures and follows the commitments made by the restaurateur. The commitments do not take into account exclusively the quality of the products but also the practice of an old know-how or the commitments related to respect for the environment.

At the origin of the Culinary College of France

The Culinary College of France sensitive to its values

The Culinary Chefs who created the label support values that are dear to them. Independence: that restaurateurs are their own actors, that they can be free to express themselves, transparency about the origin of products and production methods but also to be engaged in the fight and respect for healthy and respectful food. The main thing in this trade, to be passionate and responsible. Sharing, through the friendliness and pleasure that customers experience with the dishes, cooperation between the different players in the production and creation chain is also taken into account. Diversity is also taken into account: the dishes must create a wonder or a certain curiosity.

There is no quality kitchen without a quality product. There is no quality product without transparency about the origin of the products and the methods of breeding and cultivation. Behind every quality product and restaurant, there is the story of a man and a territory. – The Convictions of the Chiefs

A commitment to quality catering in France

For the past five years, the Chefs of the Collège Culinaire de France have been awarding prizes to restaurateurs all over France who are fighting to preserve culinary know-how, as well as restaurateurs who seek to innovate and revisit their art. These restaurateurs, not necessarily known, starred, do not necessarily cook local dishes. Great restaurants, bistros, inns or large tables, all are likely to be labelled by the Culinary College of France.

Today, 1,500 establishments are integrated into the culinary college’s network, and the Chefs have decided to turn this year to Bordeaux, which brings together all the assets of a city with a high culinary rank. The department already has 30 Quality Accessible restaurants, designated by the Culinary College.

Bordeaux again rewarded for its lifestyle

Already last year, Bordeaux became “the city where we eat best in restaurants” by Atabula. A first place ahead of Paris and Lyon. Bordeaux has 42 tables listed in the Gault & Millau guide; 26 in the Michelin guide; thirteen restaurants members of the Collège Culinaire de France and twelve master restaurateurs. For this election, Atabula counted the number of great restaurants and the number of quality restaurants… Then divided this result by the number of inhabitants. Today, more and more great chefs come to open their restaurant in the Gironde metropolis; like Gordon Ramsay or Philippe Etchebest, for the most media.

Many chefs are currently finding an important area of expression in Bordeaux. […] Between 2014 and 2015, tourism generated 900 million in turnover; and we know that the hotel and restaurant part is the biggest beneficiary. 65% of visitors spend food in the metropolis. […] I feel like professionals are happy. We feel intensely the efforts [que les responsables municipaux et les chefs restaurateurs] made to improve the quality of the restoration, starry but not only. – Stephan Delaux, deputy mayor of Bordeaux.

Bordeaux is once again attracting attention for its culture and its art of living. This is good news that rewards the efforts made by many people in the city. At the service of taste.
